I-20
The official document that proves your acceptance into an academic program in the United States. It is the basis for applying for the F-1 visa.
F-1 Visa
The American student visa. It lets you live legally in the United States during the program, enter and leave the country, and study full-time.
CPT
Curricular Practical Training. It authorizes you to work legally in an area related
to your studies while you are in the program.
Important: all documents that are not in English must be translated by a translator certified by the ATA (American Translators Association).

Do I need to take an English proficiency test?
No. We have one of the few programs that offers an American degree without requiring TOEFL, IELTS, or the Duolingo English Test. Because classes are taught in Portuguese and Spanish, you don’t need to prove English proficiency to apply. You will be exposed to the language gradually throughout the course, especially during the in-person immersions in the United States.
Why is the amount monthly, but the commitment is by semester?
In the United States, universities charge the full semester amount right at the start. We offer a convenience that few programs do: you can split that amount into monthly payments. But the financial commitment is still per semester, meaning that when you enroll, you commit to the full semester amount, even if you pay in installments.
What happens if I’m late on a payment?
Payment regularity is important because your student status depends on it. If a payment falls behind, access to the study portal is temporarily suspended until it is brought up to date. In the case of a prolonged delay, your status may be reviewed in SEVIS, which can affect your F-1 visa. That’s why we always advise students to keep payments current and, if any difficulty arises, to contact our bilingual team as soon as possible.
Can I work while I study?
Yes, with specific rules that vary by program. In the Master’s, there is CPT (Curricular Practical Training) eligibility from the first day of the program, called One-Day CPT. In the Bachelor’s, CPT eligibility begins from the third semester. CPT lets you work legally in a position related to your field of study while you are in the program, but it requires prior approval. Before accepting any job offer, contact our bilingual team to receive the guidance and the required documentation.
Can my spouse and children be tied to my F-1 visa?
Yes. Your spouse and children under 21 can apply for the F-2 visa as dependents of your F-1 visa. To do so, you must include each dependent in the Affidavit of Financial Support (bilingual template available for download at the application step), with additional proof of US$ 2,000 per dependent, per year.
And if my visa is denied?
F-1 visa denials are rare when the documentation is well prepared. If it happens, our bilingual team analyzes the situation, identifies the reason, and guides you on the next steps, which may include a new interview with strengthened documentation. Our team works with you from the application stage precisely to minimize this risk.
Who performs the equivalency of my diploma?
The equivalency (also called evaluation or credential evaluation) must be performed by an accredited specialized company. This process confirms that your Brazilian or other-country diploma has validity equivalent to the American one. The accepted companies are Atlas, IEE, SpanTran, ECE, Educational Perspectives, Foreign Academic, FIS, Transcript Research, Incred, and Josef Silny.
